The journey that matters- the facts we accumulate along the way

I have added a podcast from the State Library it goes for about 60 mins but is a story of history, of the family historian becoming the internet junkie, a history of communication, an introduction to ancestry.com, the genealogist. So find the time and have a listen.
Ancestry.com is available in the branches @ Hobsons Bay Libraries but you can sign up on line for a free trial too.

Yes coming soon, waiting for that beautiful Willy weather to get out with the camera and take some local shots to give you a Willy slideshow, it may just be tomorrow.

Meanwhile have a look at this beauty of Sunrise @ Willy from flickr.com
Click on flickr.com and do a search of photos of Williamstown Victoria
You can creat an account with Flickr.com and save and share your great photos there.
Take a look

Google maps

Talking about maps, yes everyone seems to be, talking about Google Maps and their new street view.
Take a look, go to maps.google.com.au and search for 101 Ferguson St Williamstown and then click on street view.
Guess What, its Willy Library and if you zoom in the blinds are closed, branch not open.
But think, have you got an ancestral home in Williamstown or an older area.
Now you can check out what Great Auntie Wilmas house looks like today, if its still there or been knocked down and replaced.
You can check out your families historical home without leaving your computer
Wow Willy lovers will love it.
